Wow; toughy. For starters, I could never get sage to grow. Too humid, I expect. Basil is pretty much a no-brainer, but African basil is best because it's slower to bolt. Many of the mint family--oregano, thyme-- do fine in the shade... except mint, itself; I could never get it to grow. Rosemary's a weed, but the trailing kind makes a nice hanging basket. Can't think of any others that I planted.
