Not much in Dingman other than the falls. Now they have a stairway (240 steps) up to the top to view down as well as a wooden path to see it from ground level. Way to restricted for my taste, but nice to see anyways.Bonnie, I am very diverse. I do just about anything. I like to see things in natural settings, appreciate craft/arts too. I like history also. I also can spend a day shopping looking at unique things. In my younger years, I was abackpacker. Now I enjoy the comforts of a hotel room at night. To: gardenchat@hort.net Date: Tuesday, September 14, 2010, 12:16 AM Dingman's Falls? What a small world. When I was a camper, and then a counselor at a Y camp, we used to go toDingman's all of the time. There was nothing there - just primitive camping(no campground, no outhouse, just meadow and woods) and the falls. I still have the scar on my leg from one adventure. When I was a junior counselor, I was showing the kids how, when climbing the falls, you mustalways watch where you put your hands because of snakes. Just as I was about to put my hand on a ledge, I spotted the rattlesnake sunning itself, whippedmy hand back, and fell about 15 feet. What's there now? I don't suppose that they let anyone climb the falls anymore. That was in the 60's.If you can arrange to see Chanticleer while you're in the Longwood area, it'swell worth it. d ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donna" <gossiper@sbcglobal.net> To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Monday, September 13, 2010 9:48 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] now PA was- happy birthday Noreen!Been in the northern part of PA for awhile traveling down Rt 6 hiking and site seeing.
