Mycorrhizal fungi
There seem to be many benefits of mycorrhizal fungi, so now I find myself
wondering about the downside.
Does anyone know about the risk of ecological damage from introducing
microorganism biostimulants such as mycorrhizal fungi into soils? Where do
the fungi come from? If not local, how is it different from introducing plant
or animal species into new areas? Are there any studies of long-term effects
of soil inoculants? If "MycoriseR is a specific type of endomycorrhizal fungi
that supports
about 90 percent of plants in the world", does it work with weeds?
Did I miss something in the discussions? I'm trying to learn and looked at a
few of the web sites suggested, but can't seem to find (or recognize) the
answers.
