    Yep, I did hear about the mess at WebSeed. Too bad about that.
    I'm not sure about the web site--could be a good idea, but maybe not. Seems to e darn hard to get a nickel from people on the web.
    The book about your mothers, that sounds very worthwhile! People love books like that and they are useful and often quite readable to boot. I'd always investigate writing on many different subjects. As a writer, I often feel, that there are constantly fabulous ideas, going right on by me, and I'm too thick to pick up on them. Really it only takes one very good idea to make a writer's career.
    I'm in the middle of some long, drawn out, frustrating negotiations with a big pharmaceutical web site right now. I might well do very well from it, but thus far all the contracts they've sent me, ask too much and do too little to protect my rights to write and speak as I like. I have been getting quite a few newspapers interested in my work and have been interviewed by a bunch of them this week. The San Francisco Chronicle sent me $200 for a little article I sent them for free. The editor called me u[p and asked me, "You don't object to getting paid, do you?"
    I said, "No! Not at all.'

Hi, not much here.  I am going to buy my domains from WebSeed and start a paid membership gardening group that specializes in harder to find information.

 

You heard about the WebSeed mess didn’t you?

 

Anyway, I thought I would leave the main pages over at WebSeed and then do separate pages and forums similar to GardenWeb with options for email notification like Yahoo Groups.  I thought I would charge $10 a year for membership and offer items like a Garden Encyclopedia, Gardening FAQ’s and Terminology as well as links to certain books that correspond to the particular forum topics.

 

What do you think?

 

We may be back in Indiana by June 6th.  I’m awaiting the final details of the trip.

 

Other than that, I am going to be working on a book with some others about our mothers.  I may be doing a regular column at the local newspaper.  I’ll know more tomorrow.

 

Any news with you?
