Jim Kennard wrote asking Lee where the weedless system has been used.  I
know it has been used here in Alaska and I used it as a kid growing up in
Lee's hometown! I know that ECHO has been using this and similar techniques
all around the world specifically for thrid world countries.  Here is a cite

By the way, Jim's comment re 90% of the world not having access to
things....this is a good time to remind you all of the GWAA Plant a Row for
the Hungry program. Thirty million AMERICANs go to be hungry every night,
most of them children.  YOU know the routine. Now is the time to get your
particular audiences to plant at least one row in their gardens to feed the
hungry and then take the food to some institution that will distribute
it....be it a local church, synagogue, Second Harvest, Food Bank, soup
kitchens etc..........and of course to grow that food scientifically!  :)
