Re: Grape Tomatoes
About those grape tomatoes: a year and a few months ago, slicing some ripe
ones in half for salad, I planted some of the seeds left on my cutting board
in potting medium in a sealed container. Germination was good, and
eventually a few plants made it to the garden, where they produced grape
tomatoes on tall, rangy plants. The taste was great. A friend came over and
marvelled at them, because this was before the seeds were widely available
commercially. (Her comment on my seed source was, "duh." Since tomatoes are
often self-pollinated, the chances of getting grape tomatoes or at least
cherry tomatoes for my efforts were very good.
