French Tulips
Come from the south of France, are predominately Darwin Hybrid but due to the optimal growing conditions they tend to be very tall and great for cutting!

my suggestion is that they heard "french" when someone said "fringed"...but I might be wrong.
jay -----Original
Message----- Someone has asked me what a French tulip is. I've scoured my resources and only come up with the fact that they have long stems, are fancy and nice for cuts...but nothing horticultural or botanical. Does anyone have any insights? Thanks Andrew
