Graham,
Thanks for your reply and caution on spilling the beans about my book offer. If it doesn't implicate anyone in particular, can you elaborate on your statement? Do you mean other authors would try to use the actual dollar info against a publisher ("but she gets this much") or authors would try to figure out what my topic is and take advantage of that?

My fear is that other publishers, thinking they might have to offer, say, $20,000 for your book, might now believe they only have to offer, say, $15,000.
