You don't have to be.  It's a convenience so that people who want to talk more about gardening can have a place to go.  Often we get threads started on the GWL that drift away from writing.  The GWL-G is intended to give folks a place to carry on those discussions so we can keep the GWL devoted just to things related to writing.
