The sodium content of woodash can be quite high. In greenhouse beds, 
this can be a tremendous problem quite quickly. Outside in a 
heavy-rainfall area such as Connecticut, you can get away with a fair 
bit before it becomes a problem. But watch for it. A good soil lab such 
as A&L can test for sodium--this is probably worthwhile if you plan on 
using a lot of it.
