Re: Peat
Forgive me all! But the idea of trusting that corporations (Canadian or
American) will put work into renewing peat bogs over a one-hundred year
cycle is idiotic. The earth continues to warm; the US government and the
majority of the population wish to burn gas like there's no tomorrow; the
semi's plow the roads with more truckers on the way; cereal prices will rise
as now everybody wants to sell corn for fuel; we're fighting a war we cannot
win; and by the time everybody wakes up we'll be growing bananas in Philly.
So who is going to guard and turnover the peat beds? As to peat in soil
mixes, make your own using potting soil, refined soil, whatever soil, plus
compost or composted manure, and have better plants. Regards, Peter
