Betty,
 In one of the NSA humor workshops the presenter said to start with a statement that is TRUE, and then build the humor from there. So?

The Truth:  We have had a cold, wet, cloudy, windy, sleety, snowy spring so far?

Brainstorming from there:
In fact, it?s almost been an anti-spring, so pretty soon we might see the daffodils and crocus pulling back INTO the earth!  The robins will retreat to the south, and the ground will become frozen?I?m almost expecting to see Christmas lights on the shrubs in my neighborhood and a wreath back on my door!

I was so determined to plant my seeds that first I took a hairdryer into the garden to thaw the soil and after I planted the seeds I covered the garden with an electric blanket. Once they sprout, I'll have to install heat-lamps!

My daffodils are so hard and frozen that when the wind blows them against each other they shatter into hundreds of icy pieces.  

Now I know that 2008 is an official leap year, but in 2007 we seem to have leaped right over spring, summer and fall, and directly into winter again!

And of course the oft-used ?Where is global warming when you really need it?? 

I'm sure some members of this list can build on these few ideas....
