Re: deer

I was told about this product by a landscape designer who swears by it,
but I just don't like the idea of it and it doesn't last as long as Deer
Solution, my preferred deterrent. Deer Solution smells of cinnamon and
only needs to be applied once every 90 days. Frankly, I'm surprised it
isn't more popular. It is a systemic that is taken in through the leaves,
and once on the plants, causes them to permanently taste bad to the deer.
At the beginning of the growing season, you need to apply it to all new
growth, so you may have to spray more frequently then.

I have also used Liquid Fence, which works well, but has to be applied
more frequently. He have heavy deer pressure (50+ deer passing through
our 4 acres), so we finally put up an exclosure of Brenner's deer fencing
in the gardens immediately around the back and sides of the house. I use
wireless deer fencing (shock sticks) in the front and a Black Lab
everywhere else.

Lois
