Re: Looking for info on Ruth Stout


If you can snag a copy of the original "How to Have a Green Thumb Without an 
Aching Back", it will give you much of the "untainted" Ruth Stout. Long 
before she was "approved of" by Rodale, she was out there gardening and 
writing and fussed that they wouldn't consider her methods.

One of my life's big regrets was that I was too shy to stop by and talk to 
her, even though our travels took us by her home. She's still my gardening 
hero (heroine) and gave me permission to disagree with "the experts". I've 
learned so much from that!
