Viola pedata, V. canadensis, and V. pubescens

Does anyone have any fascinating tidbits (scientific/botanical, human interest, medicinal, ethnobiology) to pass on about any of the three violet species listed in the subject line? Bird-foot violet, Canada violet, and common yellow violet.

Many thanks,
Catriona
