Re: PAR
I am in the newly formed (February this year) Skunk Hollow Community Garden
and members all have plots within an area surrounded by a high deer fence.
We are on the same township-owned land where they make the municipal
compost.
One problem with our site was a hole in the ground, but we had to dig a
trench for the water line and threw some clay soil and rocks in there to
start to fill it. Now it is only about a foot deep and about three feet wide
and eight feet long. I looked at it and thought, potatoes!
So now the idea is to fill it halfway with more dirt and compost (we have
access to plenty), then add a layer of seed potatoes and cover them lightly
with more compost and soil, adding more of the same as they grow, hoping for
plenty of potatoes to eat and to donate to local food banks.
