Re: where to store Kindle books

After the book is on your Kindle, you can swipe its listing to the side and you get a choice to store the book (in Amazon's cloud). If you don't do that, it will be stored on your Kindle.

The question as to whether to store them in the cloud or on your iPad is up to you. Once you have many books, you won't want to have to scroll through all of them each time you choose to read a new book, so maybe you store those you've already read, or maybe you store new ones that you're waiting to read on a trip or whatever. Or maybe you store them all except your current reading.

The list of books you have on the Kindle and in the Cloud is easily
visible at all times and you can switch back and forth as you like. So there's no right or wrong answer; it's up to you.

It's kinda like how people arrange their bookcases in different ways.

Before the iPad, I downloaded the Kindle app for my iPhone at the urging of my younger son. I kept saying, The print will be too small; I can't read on that! And he kept saying, Yes, you can. And he was right. I love having books with me at all times and can read anywhere.

And -- big smile here -- whenever the topic of one of my books comes up, I can open the Kindle app and show off the book, explaining -- and showing -- what it's all about. And maybe convince someone to buy a copy. :-) Those are never in the cloud, I can tell you!

Doug Green and anyone else with experience,

I received an iPad mini for my birthday and just recently found a book
that I'd be willing to try to read on it. While Amazon provides
instructions for how to store the book on the iPad or in their Cloud
Library, I haven't found any info on how to make that choice.

On the iPad, or in the Cloud. Opinions?

Thanks,
Lois
