Re: [GWL]: Mapping gardens
There is lots of garden planning software available at Best Buy, Circuit
City, etc. that allows you to import a photograph of your yard and/or house.
You then build a planting map on top of the photo. Measurements are
usually needed, too, but you can guestimate if you don't want to measure. I
tested a batch of garden planning software for a magazine about 18 months
ago, and I found that COMPLETE LAND DESIGNER v. 5.0 by Sierra was the best
of the lot. It costs about $50. The software allows you to import any
photo, stack multiple layers of plants in 3-D and much more. As you do the
plan, a list of plants is automatically generated, too.
