FOR ALTERNATE WAYS TO INTERACT WITH THE GWL, go to
http://www.topica.com/lists/Gardenwriters and
register.  
You are NOT registered if you just sent in the "Subscribe" letter.
Once you are registered, you are able to go to "My Topica", select "GWL", look for
 the "Read" option on their GWL options page and select  "Using Topica Web Site Only -
No  Email" and you can then read letters at the web site and reply from
there, only.  This ALSO means you don't get any mail delivered to your box.  When you want to go back to having mail delivered, go back to the site and change the setting to:
 as regular e-mail
If you have trouble doing this, contact me off-list and I can make the change manually.

Dear Guys:
I have enjoyed the information in the responses to the many problems people
have brought up.  However, at this time, I must take a leave of absence if
such a thing is possible.  I would like to drop out for the next few hectic
months and rejoin in the winter.  Is this possible.
