I just got off the phone with Mike Briggs at Perfect Niche Software and
found out why they kept telling me they don't sell the photo management
system for the Mac. Because they don't...ANYMORE! Apparently, when Mac
came out with OS 9 the photo management module wouldn't work with it,
and Perfect Niche doesn't have enough Mac customers to rewrite the
software. They'll sell me the older module and it will work for now,
since I use OS 8.6, but I'm not sure it's a smart thing to do since I
may be buying a new computer within the next year which will almost
certainly have a higher OS.
They say I can use the slide labelling module with any Mac database, but
it involves some go-between work which doesn't much appeal to me. Nor
do I currently use any database at all so it's a whole new search.
Back to the drawing board.
