[GWL]: End of Rodale Thread

Lon has requested, probably rightly, that we give closure to this thread
which has obviously struck of chord with many of us.  Garden Writers have no
good reliable source of information about pesticides available to the
homeowner for use in the home landscape.  I plan to ease that problem by
next April.  I can't give all the details (secret business stuff) but there
will be on my site www.yardener.com a plant problem diagnostic system that
will lead the user from the plant, to the symptom of the problem, to the
probable cause, to the solution of the problem.  The solution will have
three parts in most cases - a do-it-yourself solution that does not involve
the use of any pesticide; but could use traps or barriers.  Then a synthetic
pesticide solution and a natural or organic pesticide solution.  All of the
synthetic and natural pesticide products will have fairly extensive files
behind them for those wishing to go more deeply than simply getting the name
of a product.  Each product file will describe in English, what it is
labeled to do.  There will be information, when available, about how to
properly use the product (number of teaspoons per gallon, temperature of the
day, tips, etc.) and then for each product the full EPA label will be
available for downloading.  The service will be a closed subscription
service, but all members of GWAA will be getting free subscriptions if they
want them.  I feel that this site will go at least part way towards giving
garden writers a place to go for reliable info about pesticides.
