If you mean the battery-operated devices that are stuck in the ground and give off a vibration that is supposed to deter moles and other animals from burrowing, I found them useless -- after spending quite a bit on 8 that I placed around the garden. What finally solved my mole problem was milky spore that I now spread on the lawn and the garden twice a year just before a rain. It takes a year or two to get established but it kills the grubs the critters are after. For squirrels, well-placed, umbrella-shaped baffles have worked best for me.
Best wishes, Andrea Barrist Stern
