On the plane ride back from Chicago I read
Chicagoland Gardening magazine cover to cover. That is one super good gardening
magazine! It was packed with funny stuff (Friends don't let friends plant
Mint.), full of great tips ( see the section on lawns where they interviewed the
head groundskeeper for the Chicago Cubs), excellent sections on landscaping,
plant recommendations, all kinds of great local material. There was even an
article on one of Chicago's Gardener's of the Year winners. I just wish we even
had such a thing as a gardener of the year award.
I'm kind of jealous. There is nothing even
close to this magazine where I live. In fact, I can't ever remember seeing a
regional gardening magazine quite as good as this one. Chicago is darn lucky to
have it!
