Everyone's Invited

The Appalachian Heirloom Seed Conservancy will hold its fall conference September 10-12. The conference is open to members and non-members alike.

There is a $10 registration fee for non-members. But if you join AHSC the fee is applied against membership dues.

AHSC's Fall Conference will be held at the Sustainable Mountain Agricultural Center, in Berea, Kentucky. Tours of that facility will be part of the festivities. Other events will include workshops ranging in subject from marketing heirlooms, to seed saving techniques, to collecting local heirlooms. A continuous seed swap will take place all day on Saturday, and there will be a group dinner on Saturday night.

Anybody interested in heirlooms, particularly heirlooms of the mountain south, should make a point of attending.

The Appalachian Heirloom Seed Conservancy is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve the heirloom food plants and sustainable agricultural practices of central Appalachia. For details about the conference or membership information, contact: AHSC, Box 519, Richmond, KY 40476, KentuckySeeds@Hotmail.com.
