GWL Listserv Party & Garden God

The GWL listserv will have its annual cocktail party at the GWA Oklahoma 
City Symposium on Friday, Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. in the Sheraton Hotel bar, the 
Aria Lounge.  A quiet section in the back of the bar is reserved for us. 
There will be platters of munchies, as in years past.  Contributions towards 
their purchase are always appreciated.  Drinks are BYO, buy your own.

It's too early for a sign up sheet, as the symposium is more than eight 
weeks away, but consider this information in making your plans.  I will post 
a call for sign-ups towards the end of August when schedules are solid and 
minds are on other things than the garden.

 It's been suggested by several listserv members that we do something 
memorable and substantial this year by honoring one of our own as Garden God 
or Goddess of the Year.  The winner will be announced at the party and duly 
crowned or gossiped about if he or she is not in attendance.

How do you feel about this?  We'd like to hear your opinions.  If we go 
ahead with this contest, Doug Green has volunteered to gather votes and 
tally the winner.  You have about four weeks to discuss this on the listserv 
before we either drop the idea or start the nomination process.
