Re: GWA electronic ballot
That is the kind of thing that is nice to hear and I am sure Linda
appreciates and deserves it and I agree with you Nancy, that the proof is in
the pudding so to speak. You have to base your decision on what the
regional director has done for your region in all of this and the only way
that can be honestly decided is by having the national director voted from
within the region that they are in. Ineffective regional directors can
become ineffective national directors and when you have a three year term to
go through that can be disastrous for a region.
Now the other thing I don't quite understand is why they would just ask for
such a tiny bio on each of the members when this was going on to a
website...could be a first try at it and it will grow as time goes on..but I
would have thought being a website, that you would have had a lot more space
to provide proper write ups on the members that are up for election..perhaps
next year that will change. It is great to be able to vote on line like
that and I sure hope that they tell us that this year was the best year for
getting votes in. Perhaps one day we will see the Q & T on line! Just
think of the money that would be saved from the postage alone, never mind
all the paper.

I agree with Linda that the present method of voting gives members
little to go on. The resume doesn't always tell the story when it
comes to electing National Directors. I know folks who have
incredible credentials and name recognition yet were totally
ineffective as regional directors. Linda, on the other hand spent
countless hours working on region V meetings that were first class.
She's a class act and deserves your vote. Nancy Szerlag
