Gardens I should visit in Peru

In three weeks I am going to Peru for a five day conference of the  
International Society of Horticultural Science, Soilless Culture Sub- 
Committee, and I am going to stay an extra 10 days after the  
conference. Has anybody on the list been to Peru and can you recommend  
gardens I should visit? I know it is winter but they are near the  
equator with temps in the 60s to 70s year round. Or for that matter  
sites I should visit that are not the popular touristy sites. Thanks.  
I will have the pictures at the GWA in Portland.
