Re: Sad news.

GWA is such a great leveler. At my first symposium I was awed by the fact
that JIM WILSON was manning the Fafard's booth. OMG! I walked up to him
with trepidation. He was my gardening guru before I even considered working
in the industry! I went to a bookstore to buy a book that he could
autograph. Too many stories and connections fall out of that first meeting.
He was a giant on whose shoulders I have always felt encouraged to stand.
How many of us have a life's work committed and validated from his
mentoring?

I look back to last year in Raleigh and realize now that our big hug was
just a long goodbye. I won't miss him as much as I won't be able to add to
my collection of JIM stories. I will just treasure the ones I have all the
more.

My thoughts and love go out to Janie and the family.\

Kirk
