Re: hot pepper flakes?
My only complaint is that it doesn't work. I've had it fail as an insecticide and also against furrier critters (deer and squirrel). In fact, I have a charming photo of a squirrel eating bird seed mixed with so much hot pepper that the seed looks entirely red. I, too, have heard it's supposed to be painful, but this squirrel came back time after time for more spicy bird seed.
