I typically run an AV on full-time plus Spybot Search and Destroy every now 
and then. http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html  Note that there are a 
lot of programs that claim to be Spybot, so use the link if you need it. 
I've also found  Hijack This and Malwarebytes to be useful on occasion.

Have you changed your hotmail password? That's critical.

If you've done all of that and not solved the problem, check in with Virus 
Central. There are some sharp people there, some of whom have provided 
support for the name brand antivirus people for decades.
