Re: gardenwriters Digest, Vol 147, Issue 11Global warming

Jeff,
Our summer is setting records all over the place. Wildfires, temps in upper 90’s, local drinking water tastes foul, so buying it off the shelf for drinking. But it is the garden which is most worrisome both at home and the nursery as we learn how much water is enough to keep them going and what is excessive here in western Oregon. Vegetable seed crops are coming in way early and expect a resulting drop in production from those with water shortages. Wildfires are burning throughout Oregon and Washington. Yesterday topped 98 today 87 predicted, hallejulah. Rose Marie, Nichols Garden Nursery.

For the first time in my 40 years here there is no snow on the mountains around Anchorage and a daylily I have been nursing for 18 years finally flowered…..And, we have had more 70 degree days than I can handle!
