Further to my earlier e-mail about the virus Badtrans. I told you that the
virus was picked up by Norton AV but I overlooked to tell you that was not
on the receipt of the e-mail but in a scheduled scan that I do as a matter
of course. For some reason the system had elected to remove my e-mail
package from the list of protected programs so I had been living in
blissful ignorance that I was open to this kind of attack.

The moral of the tale is to do frequent checks on all your programs that
you believe are protected to ensure that they still are. It took me time
and worry sorting the problem out that I needn't have had to do if the OS
were stable.
