RE: [GWL]: GWAA awards again

It's a tough process, I understand, but I think they make it as fair as
possible.  Any judges out there want to comment.  I'm sure you will
confirm that GWAA tries stresses professionalism -- the judges generally
have rather high ethical and journalistic standards of objectivity -- as
objective as a human can get!  

As for the fee -- have someone give it to your for Christmas.   If you
win, you should be able to get your money's worth of publicity out of it
-- if you work it!

I won't go over everything, but the biggest gripe I got was that the
judging
was too subjective.  One judge
raved over a piece while another totally dumped on it because they
didn't
care for the subject.  Things like that.  Sounds like a distinct points
system or something is needed.  If it's like that, I don't want to risk
the
fee, which is a fair chunk of change, just to toss it away.
