RE: [GWL]: Martha Baby
In general I'm against all things marketed to the general public (a
hold-over from my college days I guess) so I hadn't really given the Martha
concept a serious thought. But then my organization hosted a lecture by
Margaret Roach, the MS gardening editor. Fabulous. I loved it. Then I
looked through our "complimentary" issue of the magazine, tried a few of
the recipes, read some of the articles, especially the plant-related ones.
It's good practical (although out of my price-range) advice. And she knows
darn well that we've all figured out those aren't really her hands potting
up the plants.
p.s. Tried the pan-fried fennel recipe in the Nov. issue. Sounds odd, but
it's fantastic.

favorite
punching doll. If you catch the mag or the TV show there days, there are a
lot more guests and segments with designers and magazine section editors
and
other experts (true: sometimes they don't get a word in edgewise), but MS
knows we're not going to believe one person does it all, all the time, esp.
when there's a conglomerate to run...
Perhaps the trouble is that her 15 minutes have turned into years...and
she's so much richer than the rest of us. ; -)

enjoy it a lot more with a mix of other people. It would give her
