[GWL]: Opened my eyes, wide!

We've been talking a lot about gardeners being perhaps bored with garden
writing, and no longer wanting to bother with "how to" topics. I ran into
a post on another list this morning that may open some eyes. Yes, THIS
morning, Dec. 19, 2001.

>A while ago I asked about interesting devices to make
>bagging leaves easier. People responded with clever
>devices to hold the bag open. I never got around to
>rigging something up, and wasn't prepared to spend
>money on it. But I found another approach that made
>the whole process painless - a rake!

This was not a joke, either. The writer is well educated, and has a white
collar job.

I heartily dislike condescension, but recall the admonition that nobody
ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the public. Margaret
Lauterbach
