[GWL]: Report On New Products List Project

The new products list for garden writers is about to be launched today.  I
have four entries I will post separately later and about ten companies very
interested.  I have decided to expand the list to announce press kits for
new products with no samples available.  In a few months I hope we will have
a pretty complete list of new products of potential interest to garden
writers.  I won't include everything.  If something comes out in a new size
or with a new carburator or the like I will pass.  I will try to keep the
list uncluttered with routine changes in products.  The companies with whom
I am talking are very excited about this project.  Even some of the
companies with products worth hundreds of dollars are taking a serious look.
I told them they could limit the number of samples to be made available
which makes them breath a bit easier.
Here is the routine so far.  I will post each new item on this GWL  list as
it comes out.  Lon and Doreen can figure out where we might store the entire
developing list so members of GWL can go back to it when they wish.  I will
send each new item to GWAA to be considered for their newsletter.  As soon
as I get ten items I will approach Bob LaGasse to get the list posted on the
GWAA web site.
There are about 8 of you who indicated an interest in helping to build this
list.  Actually, I will take leads from anyone on the list off line if you
hear of a new product that might be worth posting.  If I get overwhelmed
with requests I will spread the preparation of the paragraphs to my
committee.  We'll work out the process as we go along.  In my own self
interest I will be posting most of the description of the new products on my
own website.  Other list members with web sites might want to consider a New
Products section.  By July we should have a pretty complete collection.
