Re: [GWL]: New Product Announcement - Sluggo

We have been selling this for about 2 years. There is one German Company that produces it and it
is sold in the US under different trade names: Sluggo, Escargo and etc. Our customers report that
it is not as effective as the metaldehyde baits but is non-toxic. We have heard reports that dogs
have been sickened and died after eating the metaldehyde bait. The metaldehyde forms formaldehyde
that sterilizes the soil and so works contrary to efforts to build life in the soil.

We also sell decolate snails which prey on the garden snail (not slugs) and so have worked out
ways to use both. Sluggo will kill decolate snails so the safest way to use it is to apply the
sluggo twice two weeks apart and then the decolate snails after about 2 weeks.

Decolate snails keep to duff or mulch covered areas mostly under plants. They do not cross open
areas or paths. After releasing decolates you can bait in open areas such as paths or driveways.
The decolate snails will not be exposed to the bait.
