It takes at least 45 days to organize a PAR network.  You might ask for
volunteers to meet in January in your column and suggest that local garden
centers and horticulturally-related businesses think about PAR.  An
educational campaign about PAR take months.  So....it's not too early to
talk about the hungry people in your area who may get Christmas dinners and
gifts from various charities and can certainly use fresh veggies and fruits
next summer.
