The (so far) most negative unspoken thing about horizontal deer fencing is the ENORMOUS number of square feet taken up by such an arrangement. I'm probably not alone in wanting as many square feet to GARDEN as possible. Unless you have acreage (in which case the fencing expense would be huge regardless of the method), it simply gobbles up more planting area than the deer would.
