Mary - here' s the two feeds for hort that I've found that are worth the bandwidth. There's a bunch of "gardening" ones out there but none that look very good so far...

http://www.allheadlinenews.com/cgi-bin/news/xml/newsxml.cgi?cat=horticulture is the world headline news feed for hort (reasonably active)

http://www.ubcbotanicalgarden.org/resources/links/index.rdf is the UBC hort one (not very active)
