Book marketing advice
About the decision to sell your books yourself at a garden show or let the
bookstore booth do it: please, please remember the importance of
bookstores, particularly independent booksellers, to your success as an
author. Sitting at a bookstore's booth for an hour and chatting up the
staff may lead to them continuing to handsell your books at their stores for
years to come. The profits a bookstore makes from selling your books will
help them stay in business and continue to nurture writers and readers. None
of us would be able to do what we do without bookstores!
