Re: web site to promote book?
My uncle used a site builder that his webhost provided and had a lot of
trouble with it. They are often cookie cutter affairs limiting you to an
unimaginative layout.
The tradeoff is always time versus money. How much is your time worth? If
you are willing to spend the time, you can have a website for under $50 a
year. You can buy a single domain name from Yahoo for under $2
(

)
and with some searching find a good price for a webhost. I have been happy
with Total Choice
Hosting<http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/web-hosting-plans.html>for
years and they charge $44/yr for their most basic plan. Three sites
that
will help you find a webhost are
http://findmyhosting.com/
http://webhostsonline.com/
http://www.hostreview.com/.
And WordPress is free and is easily adapted to what you want to do, plus it
would give you more flexibility for the future.
You might find a knowledgable teen who can help you out for a much more
reasonable price than the professional web designer. If you don't have a
geeky relative try asking the computer teacher at the high school for a
recommendation. What you want your website to do sounds relatively simple
and straightforward and should be easy to execute.
