Re: Finding Places To Speak
Hi Sheri,
Is there a Garden Clubs of Indiana organization? In Chicago, I always
put my name into the Garden Clubs of Illinois speaker's directory,
updated yearly, which gives a list/ description of each program I do.
They have a nominal charge for inclusion in the directory. Every
speaker lists his/her fee, which ranges from $100 to $500. Some
charge for mileage. The only time I don't get paid is when I'm
speaking at the Chicago Flower Show, which doesn't pay anybody, but
the exposure makes it worth doing anyway.
There are lots of garden clubs in the Chicago area and they all
expect to pay for their programs. Indiana may be different, of
course, but if you're close enough to Indianapolis, I would think
that its garden clubs would expect to pay for their speakers.
