Re: Gmail security issue

I probably know less than you about matters technical in this realm
Sort of like I used to be able to fix my car but now I haven't got a clue
what all those add-ons are. I have to find a good mechanic with which to
develop a relationship.
What disturbed me about this situation was that the big guys- google,
go-daddy- didn't seem to feel the need to immediately resolve this issue for
their client.
Maybe lawyer types can answer this- is there a responsibility for such
companies to protect their customers? Especially since it would be
reasonable to state that very few folks (Luddites and Frielsters
notwithstanding) are even close to the Dougs and Chris' of this world. Or
does caveat emptor rule?
