A Wikipedia for plants and gardening?

We all know Wikipedia and whether we think it's a good idea or not, it's a force to be reckoned with on the Net.

While there are plants and gardening subjects on Wikipedia, what it there was a separate wiki just for hort topics?

Well, an Armenian-American fellow in California would like to make that idea a reality. His site is called Plants.am. http://www.plants.am/wiki/Main_Page

It's still in its early stages, although, he says, it has 3,000 articles and 7,000 photos up so far.

I did an interview with him for my blog and would be happy to send his e-mail address to anyone who wants to contact him for more info, etc., if you'd like to write about it.

I have no interest in this beyond the fact that it seemed interesting to me and I thought it would interest the larger gardening community.

And yes, I realize that these former Soviet republics can be the source of Internet fraud. I didn't see any signs of that, but can't make any guarantees, of course. His English is excellent and it all seems legit to me.
