Re: A Little Night Gardening

Betty you're right - it is sad when spouses have to go through these kinds
of maneuvers. Fortunately, my husband and I don't have these issues -- I
support his golf because it's so good for him and makes him happy and he
supports my gardening for the same reasons. But I, too, hear tales from
those who have to sneak things into the house, garage, attic, or garden, and I
find it, well, demeaning - to both spouses. (This is assuming, of course,
that you can afford these hobbies! If my gardening or his golf were taking
food from the table, that would be a totally different matter which would
warrant some serious discussion!)

Sad to say, every hobby has its household "detractors"!

My husband is into radio controlled (RC) planes. I cannot even begin to
tell you the very many devious methods guys have to go thru to get a new
plane into the house! Or the things they go thru to save up enough cash
to buy a new one!

We've even had one friend stash his three new planes in our basement for
over 4 years, lovingly work on them whenever he could get away. And fly
them only if my husband brought them out to the field.

And I agree with Doug, it's very sad to witness the fact that spouses
cannot be honest with each other when it comes to things they enjoy!
