Re: no more "mea culpas"?

To be blunt, I can't stand Facebook for business or professional things and would rather keep GWL the way it is.

Over two years ago I tried setting up two Facebook accounts, one for B. B. Mackey Books and one for family purposes. My family was in crisis mode with very sick preemie grandbabies and updates on them were posted all the time. I wanted that to be private, but Facebook would not let me keep the two accounts apart. Also I did not want my family to be pestered with my press releases and announcements. Finally I closed the book biz account since nothing else worked. I understand that there is some kind of business page that can be set up, though I have not tried it.

These days I enjoy seeing the photos of my growing grandchildren (the twins are pretty much OK) and reading about the wild doings of my nephews (now one is engaged!) and so on.

I know that I have not kept up with Facebook's changes and privacy setting options, but I see so many intrusive ads. Also there are postings by family that seem unprofessional, such as what online games they are playing, there for their co-workers and parents and everyone else to see.

I guess I have reached the age of curmudgeonhood. Even so, I rarely have trouble clipping off non-relevant portions of previous GWL posts.

Cheers, all,

Betty Mackey
