Desert expert goes to Alabama

I enjoyed Linda Schaffner's introductory posting very much. It's hard
to write in the first person and capture people's imagination and interest.
She has a real gift for it -- a light touch and a sense of humor. I'm both
dismayed and delighted by Linda's dilemma of being a desert landscape expert
who soon will be transplanted to Alabama. Sounds like a great story, which
might even have book potential. The best stories, after all, are about people
confronted with a challenge and how they tackled and overcame it. I'm a
freelance garden writer in San Diego who writes for magazines -- no garden
books to my credit, but I like to read them! I wonder what other, more
accomplished GWAA members might advise Linda, and/or the rest of us, re the
potential of selling an autobiographical garden book.
