I couldn't agree more with Barbara--it would not be acceptable to many
garden writers, myself included, to have a dot com site that did not
pay its writers.

It might be useful at this point to go back to a discussion of the
PURPOSE of the site--if it is to be a tool for garden writers rather
than a tool for the consumer, there is no need for advertising or for
turning it into a dot com.

In terms of the "commercial" uses of the site, I liked the idea of
links to members' pages and would also support the idea of a directory
of members' areas of expertise/interests so that readers could find a
writer or information about a particular topic.
