The rose species listed in Plants of the Chicago Region by Floyd Swink
and Gerould Wilhelm of the Morton Arboretum include the following
native species:
Rosa arkansana suffulta
Rosa blanda
Rosa carolina
Rosa palustris
Rosa setigera
They also list the following as found growing wild in the area but
introduced from Europe or Eurasia:
Rosa canina
Rosa cinnamomea
Rosa eglanteria
Rosa gallica
Rosa multiflora
Rosa rugosa
